Three fishing boats were anchored in the remote inlet the day of the huge wave. Incredibly, two of the boats survived.
In the BBC produced video at right,center, two survivors who were onboard one of the fishing boats tell their stories of the day the world's biggest wave hit Lituya Bay.
Although not the largest tsunami ever recorded, the day after Christmas Indian Ocean tsunami of 2004 was by far the most deadly. It is estimated that between 100,000 to 200,000 people died that day.
