One of these days, we’re heading to Ireland. Few areas of the world can top the beauty found there, and it makes sense for the Green Man to return to his Irish roots, doesn’t it?
One of the must-sees in Ireland are the Cliffs of Moher. Rising straight up 700 feet from the ocean, these cliffs are a spectacular sight.
The sediments forming the cliffs were originally deposited over 320 million years ago. Now the cliffs attract birds: over 30,000 from nearly 30 different species.
The cliffs attract people, too. The Cliffs of Moher are one of Ireland’s biggest tourist attractions. Over 1 million people visit each year. They walk along the sheer edges carefully, since there are no rails in place to prevent one from falling, and gaze down to the roiling surf below.
One of these days we’ll be there, too.
